Training Max Calculator
Enter a known 1RM or a recent set to calculate a Training Max. Classic 5/3/1 and JTS use 90% of 1RM; some 5/3/1 templates use 85%. How Training Maxes work.
90% is the usual starting point. Use 85% when the template calls for it.

A Training Max, or TM, is a conservative number programs use instead of a true 1RM. 5/3/1 and JTS apply their percentages to the TM so working weights stay below a true maximum. Chad Wesley Smith calls this number a Working Max in Juggernaut Method material. Dynamic Program uses Training Max for both methods so the same app field keeps the same name.
Dynamic Program uses a Training Max field for 5/3/1 and JTS. Set a TM for each main lift, then the app calculates working weights from it as the cycle progresses.
